Internet Safety Introduction

 

Take the "Students Online: How much do you know ?"  Power Point quiz together as a class.  Answers will be discussed in detail as the class chooses answers. (The quiz is from www.pewinternet.com)

 

Watch the video "The Bulletin Board" and discuss in class.

 

Situation Cards - The class breaks into 4 smaller groups.  Each group is given one of the four "situation cards".  Each class must write a response to their situation and explain it to the class.  Each situation is discussed as an entire class. (Situation Cards are from www.netsmartz.org)

 

 

  Internet Safety, Ethics and Netiquette - video presentations by students using iMovie, ComicLife and digital cameras.

Project Outline

 

  1. Students work in groups and select a topic. (see below for topic ideas).
  2. Research topic.
  3. Develop an outline for a video.  Use the preplanning guide to plan your story, pictures and ideas.
  4. Use ComicLife to create a storyboard for video and design pages. 

    Make sure you are formated in Video 4x3 for viewing on a TV or Projector.

  5. Use digital cameras to take pictures for video and import images into iPhoto.
  6. Import images into ComicLife and design pages.
  7. Export ComicLife project as images to iPhoto.  .
  8. Import images into iMovie from iPhoto.  See the tutorial on getting from Comic Life to iMovie
  9. Add voice overs, sound effects, music and titles.
  10. Export your iMovie to Quicktime
  11. Present video.
